SAFE HAVEN V PROGRAM 2016-2017
To Our Children’s Future With Health, Inc. (TOCFWH) is a community-based, non-profit agency established in 1992. TOCFWH has created a community support system able to respond to the emerging needs, ensure effective delivery of services and attainable outcomes of inner city residents using five strategic areas: Healthy Communities, Programming; Training, Evaluation and Research; Data; and Public Relations and Fund Development. TOCFWH has provided services to youth in the Overbrook Community for over 15 years. The proposed program outcomes for the Safe Haven V are: Improved Life Skills; Engagement in Learning; Improved Relationships; Engagement in School; and Aspires to Educational Excellence; and Prepared for Higher Education and Employment. The core strategies to accomplish these outcomes are: Homework/Tutoring; STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) through Project Based Activities; Team Activities-Outside/Inside Recreation; Story Time/Cultural Awareness; Clubs (Chess, Scrabble, Drama, Board games, etc.); and Competitive Educational Activities (Spelling bees, science fairs, essay contest, and math 24). Students will also have access to annual physicals and health education services, which are offered free to all of TOCFWH’s youth program participants. All participating students receive a daily nutritious meal.
The Safe Haven V Program will be located in the St. Francis Cabrini School. The number of daily participants expected in the Safe Haven V after-school program is 12 per day (K-8thgrades).
The Safe Haven V Program will operate Monday through Friday from 3:00-5:30 PM. The cost of the program is $5.00 per day. Payments are made on a monthly basis. You do not have to sign-up for the whole week to participate in the program. You can choose the day(s) you want to send your child/children. Please indicate that on the form. Due to limited availability, participants will be selected on a first come, first serve basis. A confirmation email will be sent to verify your child’s space in the program.
